Control Valve Characteristics

In this lesson, we will discuss, Characteristics of the Control Valve.

   Size: The size of a control valve is the size of the line in which it is fitted.

The size of a control valve is given in mm.

   Body Material: The body material of a control valve is the material of which the control valve is made up of.

Travel: Travel is the travel made by a control valve.

Travel is the total movement of a spindle or plug stem.

 The travel of a control valve is given in mm.

Supply Failure Position

It is the position of a control valve when the air supply fails.

 This position is open or close.

Cv

The cv of a control valve is the coefficient of the control valve.

the full of cv is the coefficient of the valve.

Cv of a control valve is the flow across a control valve on 1 psi pressure. Or the flow across the control valve on minimum pressure applied.

Cv of a control valve is given in numeric numbers.

Sr. No.

Sr. No. is the control valve serial number.

 Sr. No. of a control valve is given in numeric numbers.

Model

model is the model number of a control valve.

 model number of a control valve is given in alphanumeric numbers.

   Characteristic

It shows the opening of a control valve whether linear, equal, or quick open.

the linear opening means the control valve will open linearly when a pneumatic signal is applied. Equal opening means the control valve will open equally when a pneumatic signal is applied. quick opening means the control valve will open quickly when a pneumatic signal is applied.
